Will and Mary Montgomery Memorial Scholarship

Description

The Will and Mary Montgomery Memorial Dissertation Research Award seeks to provide one award of $1,125 for direct research costs to an advanced graduate student whose dissertation is focused on Black older adults with mild cognitive impairment and/or dementia. Applicants from underrepresented backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply.

Eligibility

  1. Applicants must be student members of the Society for Black Neuropsychology. Students who are not members must apply for membership when submitting materials for the Will and Mary Montgomery Memorial Dissertation Research Award. All applicants should submit a copy of their membership receipt, or a screenshot of their account confirming their student membership.
  2. Applicants must have had their dissertation proposals approved by their dissertation committees prior to application.
  3. Applicants must have not yet successfully defended their dissertations.
  4. Applicants must not have previously received an SBN Dissertation Research Award.

  2. A summary of your dissertation research (2-page max)
  3. Budget for your dissertation research
  4. IRB approval letter
  5. Completed Verification of support from by your dissertation chair
  6. Proof of SBN membership (e.g., screenshot, email confirmation)

Timeline

  1. Application Period: January 18 – January 31
  2. Review and Selection: February 1 – February 19
  3. Notification of Award: February 21
  4. Grant Disbursement: February 28
  5. Final Report Submission: 1 year after grant disbursement

Society for Black Neuropsychology (SBN) Dissertation Grant

Description

The Society for Black Neuropsychology (SBN) Dissertation Grant seeks to provide one award of $1,500 for direct research costs to an advanced graduate student from an underrepresented background conducting basic or applied research relevant to SBN’s mission.

Eligibility

  1. Applicants must be from an underrepresented background
  2. Applicants must be student members of the Society for Black Neuropsychology. Students who are not members must apply for membership when submitting materials for the SBN Dissertation Grant. All applicants should submit a copy of their membership receipt, or a screenshot of their account confirming their student membership.
  3. Applicants must have had their dissertation proposals approved by their dissertation committees prior to application.
